Federal Hill was the inspiration for Stephen Foster's ballad, "My Old Kentucky Home."  Today this Bardstown mansion is as endearing to visitors as it was in 1852 when Foster was inspired to write the song.  Costumed guides escort you through the stately mansion.  Open daily Sept-May, 9am-5:00pm, June-Aug 8:30am-6:30pm, (candlelight tours Nov 28-30, Dec 5-7 and 12-14); closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve and Day.  Handicapped accessible on first floor only. Old County Jail
